Money, so they say, is the root of all evil today.

But if you ask for a raise it's no surprise that they're giving none away.

Bio
information

Name: Balthazar Henry Wilcox III
Alias: Marcus Petty.
Codename: Stripper.
Age: 31.
Date of Birth: May 25, 1967.
Zodiac: Gemini.
Eyes: Blue.
Hair: Black.
Religion: Agnostic.
Affiliation: Neutral.
Abilities: Post-cognition and mild telepathy. He can get glimpses of people’s pasts, which can prove useful if he can interpret the full meaning of the glimpse. It doesn’t happen because of coming in contact with the individual, but actually in connection to the thoughts. The thoughts allow him to acquire glimpses from the individual. But since it’s not a very controlled ability, it actually makes him wonder if he’s getting a glimpse into the mind (which he’s not). .

personality

Balthazar is someone who lacks a lot of humility deep down. He sees the world as a conglomeration of numbers, facts, ways of putting things together. If you have the right amount of money, you can get far, and that’s how he’s always been. He’s not exactly sensitive to a lot of people’s needs—which often makes him come off as a little pigheaded and ignorant at times, which he often can easily be seen as being. It’s not a surprise that someone like this went into business. He has a knack for what numbers will go where, and he knows how to spout off numbers easily, but when it comes to actually being personable—he fails. Fortunately, he doesn’t need to worry about that as much.

Yet his disposition isn’t so bad as to say that’s he’s all pigheaded, all rude, and all incapable of speaking to people. On the contrary, he can carry actual conversations with people and he has a number of friends. To the people who know him, he can come across as having a good sense of humor and as somewhat laid back, especially since he has the capacity to throw a joke at people from time to time. But most of his friendships are based on money, and if they weren’t based on money, he probably wouldn’t have so many friends. He has a problem with treating women like they’re beneath him (which often puts him at odds with women who don’t put up with that), and most men are raised up on a pedestal just because. Patriarchy is not a problem in the eyes of Balthazar. As for his sense of humor, he tends toward off-color and tasteless jokes, finding the ones that make fun of minorities to be the best. He also doesn’t fail to insult foreigners and numerous other people. Yes, it’s a very good thing he has money.

He comes off as a bit snobbish if he thinks that someone is a “joke” to him, often irritating people around him. It’s not so much arrogance as passing the world off as nothing unless there’s dollar signs attached to it. Even working with the thieves has proven to be a bit of a joke to him, but he likes what he gets out of it (as it’s useful, in the end). Balthazar’s messed up sense of humor and nature doesn’t keep him from liking women—a lot of women—and choosing to drink or smoke when he feels like it. He’s very immature about his other interests, preferring to keep a video game system and a pile of Playboy magazines tucked away in every hotel room he stays in. Gambling is fun, he thinks, and so are sports, but he prefers the finer things in life (which are the aforementioned items). After all, funding the thieves covers those things all on its own.

Oddly enough, Balthazar has a tendency to grow attached to people if he’s around them long enough. He doesn’t become so much as loyal, but does find himself preferring the company of certain people. He brushes off the bigger problems in life and decides to worry about the little things, after all, and that makes it easy for him to possibly get used to people around him. They might be initial jokes to him, but he even comes to stop making jokes of people and starts respecting them. It just takes a little bit of time to get that part of him going. He isn’t someone who thrives on first impressions and this part of him possibly allows him to give people a chance, or not one at all, if they don’t bother. Money matters less to him when he gets to this stage, but it’s still a factor. It’s what he’s building his imaginative empire out of, after all.

appearance

If someone were to look at Balthazar, it might make sense to think he’s somewhat intelligent. He keeps his hair trimmed a certain way and he has glasses. Truly, he looks almost sophisticated before he opens his mouth. Balthazar has black hair that, again, is trimmed neatly, blue eyes, and glasses. He’s fairly tall (six-foot-one) and thin. He has the faint remnants of a Southern accent from living the first portion of his life in Georgia, which tends to surprise people at times. His clothing is usually sophisticated due to the help of other people. Otherwise, he would tend toward gaudy pink suits and ties (which he tries to slip in from time to time).

history

Born to Balthazar Henry Wilcox Jr. and Candace Wilcox, Balthazar is the younger brother of Jaclyn Wilcox by six years. Jaclyn was born blind and would have normally gave cause for her younger sibling to have a bit of humility, but instead, he spent the majority of his upbringing messing with her. It started when he was very young when he first threw bottles in her direction during dinner and as he grew, he started playing pranks on her to mess with her. To him, it was a great joke that his sister was blind. As a result, Balthazar didn’t have the life he could have had because of his behavior, as he was rather problematic and a little annoying at times.

The Wilcox family was out of Athens, Georgia, but the majority of the family business was actually in Atlanta (forcing the elder Balthazar to drive over an hour to work every morning). They had a newspaper in Atlanta that went under by the time that the younger Balthazar was eight years old. Not wanting to give up what they believed they were good at, the family scoped across the country to figure out where they would next move. First, it was Cleveland, but after two years, that failed. Next, it was Los Angeles, where the elder Balthazar got into the television industry and eventually became an agent. Of several failed stars. Still, he ended up getting paid for it.

Jackie ended up going on to become a teacher for the blind—at least she had some humility—and Balthazar decided to go a different route than his father, going into business rather than communications. He changed his mind a few times on schools and majors before he settled on business once more. Prior to the absolute decision of college, he came into his abilities and almost thought he was as messed up as his blind sister. But when they came to be used to his advantage, he decided against that thought and entered college. Even though he was indecisive about the nature of college itself, he was fairly good at using what glimpses of information he got from people to the best of his ability. He was already of a good disposition and this information helped him in the rigorous and competitive field he entered.

When he left school, he actually lived rather haphazardly for a few years. First, he “vacationed,” as he called it, in his parents’ basement playing video games and “readying himself” for the world. But after they kicked him out, he failed at opening several large businesses until his father passed away, leaving him with a rather large inheritance. This money allotted him the ability to invest in stocks, and though he almost went bust a few times, he ultimately grew to be successful as a result. He managed to make it in the business world a little, but he didn’t quite make it enough to be completely successful. He didn’t feel like he had a name for himself, enough of a head on things, and multiple other problems that he felt were necessary to face.

However, someone decided to force him to face him when he was asked to fund a group that would be working out of Rio de Janeiro. Although it wasn’t particularly what he saw himself doing, he saw the usefulness of it. It would get him out of the US, for one thing, and for another, he could help in doubling the amount of money he had if he used it wisely. As a result, he has become the main source of income for the group.

To the group of thieves and anyone associated, he’s known as Marcus Petty, or Stripper.
